Provide your feedback on the draft provincial chronic pain strategy
Over the past decade, Pain BC has been actively listening to and learning about the challenges experienced by people in pain while navigating BC’s health care system. To help address these challenges, Pain BC has been advocating for a provincial chronic pain strategy and working closely with the Ministry of Health (MoH) to create it.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) is now consulting with a wide range of stakeholders and partners on a draft Provincial Chronic Pain Strategy and Action Plan. The draft strategy is informed by input received from a variety of groups, and follows best practices and evidence from other places. It proposes a “stepped care” model with different services for people with mild, moderate to complex pain. The strategy also includes education and training, supports for health care providers to give better care, and research.
Pain BC is holding an online focus group session to get feedback from people in pain on the draft strategy. We hope you will join us to share your thoughts and to learn more about how this strategy will impact chronic pain care in our province.
