Making Sense of Pain: Online is a free nine-week program from Pain BC designed to empower you to improve your quality of life and well-being through pain education and social connection.
The weekly 90-minute online group will be facilitated by Pain BC Support Services staff.
Important information for Youth: The Pain Support Line is not able to serve youth directly, at this time. However, parents/ caregivers of youth living with chronic pain are welcome to contact the line on their behalf for support.
Using a combination of interactive learning, discussion and practice activities each week will offer education, tools and resources to support you in your pain management, while providing an opportunity to share, listen and learn from others who live with chronic pain too.
Groups are held online via Zoom and we strive to support accommodation requests such as closed captioning.

Making Sense of Pain is available for youth aged 14-18 who are living with ongoing pain. These sessions are designed to be relatable, engaging, and relevant to young people’s everyday lives, including school, activities and relationships.
Caregivers are encouraged to attend the intake session to learn more about the program and how to support conversations at home. The program itself is intended for youth only.
Youth sessions are facilitated by registered social workers and counsellors and explore topics such as pain science, stress, movement, sleep, and social support. Sessions are adapted to reflect the realities and priorities of young people.
