Free, confidential text line for tradespeople living with pain

The Guide Line equips you with free, confidential information, practical tools, and resources to manage pain and its impacts on your life. Text the Guide Line at 1-833-261-PAIN (7246).
What is the Guide Line?
More than half of people working in the trades live with persistent pain, but many feel alone in dealing with it. The Guide Line connects you one-on-one with our trained staff to talk about how pain is impacting you and start building a plan to reduce its effects on your life and well-being.
Hours of operation
The Guide Line is open Monday to Thursday 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
How can the Guide Line help me?
Our trained staff can help you by providing:

A safe, private space where you can talk about how you're dealing with pain and how it’s affecting your life.

Connection to resources and information, including programs designed for and with people working in the trades.
The Guide Line can connect you with:
Support for chronic pain, including:

Free or low-cost counselling and pain programs

Information about pain clinics

Help understanding what services are available to you and how to access them

Referrals to community supports across BC
Mental health tools and services, such as:

Help finding a counsellor

Information aboutmanaging anxiety, depression, or stress
Substance use and addiction resources, including:

Ways to reduce risk and access harm reduction tools

Peer-led support groups

Resources specific to substance use in the trades

Who can text the Guide Line?
The Guide Line is free to access and intended for:

Workers in the trades/construction industry in British Columbia who live with pain

Family, caregivers and loved ones of a person working in the trades industry (BC residents only)

How often can I contact the Guide Line?
We welcome both first-time and returning clients who have pain-related concerns.
The Guide Line is not a crisis line
If you require immediate medical assistance call 911. If you are in distress, or feel you may cause harm to yourself or others, these crisis lines can provide immediate assistance.
