How can the Guide Line help me?
You can get help with any pain that has been going on for weeks or months.
Our trained staff can help you by providing:
- A safe, private space where you can talk about how you're dealing with pain and how it’s affecting your life.
- Connection to resources and information, including programs designed for and with people working in the trades.
The Guide Line can connect you with:
Support for chronic pain, including:
- Free or low-cost counselling and pain programs
- Information about pain clinics
- Help understanding what services are available to you and how to access them
- Referrals to community supports across BC
Mental health tools and services, such as:
- Help finding a counsellor
- Information about managing anxiety, depression, or stress
Substance use and addiction resources, including:
- Ways to reduce risk and access harm reduction tools
- Peer-led support groups
- Resources specific to substance use in the trades

The Guide Line is free to access and intended for:

Workers in the trades industry in British Columbia who live with pain. No union membership or insurance coverage is required to text the Guide Line

Yes, your conversation is confidential and private. Nothing you share will be disclosed to your employer, union, or anyone else without your explicit consent.

We welcome both first-time and returning clients who have pain-related concerns.
The Guide Line is not a crisis line
If you require immediate medical assistance call 911. If you are in distress, or feel you may cause harm to yourself or others, these crisis lines can provide immediate assistance.
